

Fire Safety Workshop (one evening)
Knowing what to do in the event of a fire could be the difference between life and death. Having the necessary skills and knowledge to identify possible fire hazards and the confidence to react quickly and calmly in the event of a fire could help to prevent serious injury. The workshop instructor will simulate a real fire on the night in order that participants will get hands on experience on using fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

Meath County Childcare Committee will host a tax information evening with an independent tax consultant to discuss all aspects of tax and taxation for childminders, the aim of the night is to ensure that people are fully aware of their rights and entitlements with regard to all income tax matters.
This one night information workshop is open to all.

Network Visit to the Belfast Play Resource Centre:
Networking is a vital part of the work of Meath County Childcare Committee, brining childcare professionals together in a relaxed atmosphere where they have an opportunity to discuss issues, share ideas, learn form one another is one of the areas that Meath County Childcare Committee are very proud of.
As part of Childminding initiative MCCC will host a network visits to the Play Resource Centre in Belfast (date to be arranged)
The Play Resource Centre in Belfast is a unique one-stop shop, which provides resources for children's arts, play and education. As one of the largest center's of its kind in the U.K., it now caters for some 2,000 children's community groups and organisations across Northern Ireland, and receives hundreds of visitors annually from southern Ireland
the MCCC network trip will travel by coach starting out in Summerhill with pick-up's in Trim, Navan, Slane, Drogheda
The visit includes a workshop on arts and crafts and the all important visit to the resource warehouse where our childcare providers can stock up on arts and crafts materials supplies and get new ideas for their individual services.
